I've just found out that Optimum is re-releasing Big Blue on DVD (November 2nd 2009) and Blu-Ray (November 16th 2009), this time in the correct English language version (and the French dub will be available too).
Don't buy the previous version if you're a purist, and wait for the november releases.

I don't want to blow the same horn as some other reviewers here ... for me, The Big Blue is just a fantastic movie, and maybe the picture quality is not the best that it could have been, maybe the sound quality is not as good as it could have been (although the English track in Stereo PCM sounds better than some 5.1 discs that I own), but, after all, this is a really wonderful and beautiful movie. Why do some people have to count all the grain they see? Why do some people note the time when there's a flaw in the sound? Gee, I cannot understand that, and I'm a virgo (if you know what I mean)!! So, just sit back, relax, and enjoy. When the movie's over, your wordly problems will come forward by themselves ... ;-)
